We’re thrilled to share that our 11-year partnership with Otaraua Hapū has been named Community Initiative of the Year at the 2025 NZ Energy Excellence Awards.
This prestigious recognition celebrates our shared commitment to respectful collaboration, environmental stewardship, and cultural partnership.
The partnership began with catering services for rig camps and has grown to include environmental monitoring, biodiversity projects, cultural advisory, and support services across Todd’s sites in Taranaki and the Bay of Plenty. In his speech, David Riley, Todd Group Manager Engagement and Partnerships, said that through kōrero, collaboration, and trust, a thriving enterprise has been built – one that not only provides services to Todd Energy but also enriches our people with deeper cultural understanding.
“To those looking to build similar partnerships – it takes time, humility, and resilience,” he said. “Like any relationship, there are challenges, but when you work through them together, the outcomes are powerful – mutual respect, shared growth, trust and a deeper appreciation of te ao Māori.”
The Energy Excellence Awards judging panel praised the 11-year partnership.
