Solar farms
Todd Energy operates the Kapuni Solar Plant in South Taranaki and is overseeing the construction of the Te Rahui Solar Farm Project in the Bay of Plenty region.

Te Rahui Solar Farm project
Te Rahui Solar Farm is a large, grid-scale solar project located at Rangitāiki, around 35 km east of Taupō. It is being developed as a joint venture between Nova Energy and Meridian Energy, and when complete, will have a capacity of around 400MW – enough to power approximately 100,000 homes.
Todd Energy is responsible for the construction of Te Rahui Solar Farm through to ongoing operations, maintenance, safety and environmental management once the facility is commissioned.

Kapuni Solar Plant
The 2.1MW gid-scale Kapuni Solar Plant, adjacent to the Kapuni gas processing facilities, was commissioned in 2021 and generates electricity for around 520 homes.
At the time of commissioning, it was New Zealand’s largest grid-connected solar farm.
